50's Buick Electra 225 Convertible
Boasting the largest back wing in the industry
(4 inches longer than the cadillac) the 59 Buick Electra is a stunning
sculptural masterpiece in car design. Known in the states as a 'deuce
and a quarter' the 225 signifies the actual overall length of the
car in inches.
This is Buick's flagship model for 1959, and as such comesloaded with power hood, seats and windows, power brakes and steering, along with the famous 401 'nail head' engine linked to the twin turbine auto box.
The 59 Buick was an all-new affair, having been
redesigned from the tyres up - it featured the new k- type chassis,
the best brakes in the industry at the time and the cleanest lines
that Buick ever offered; so much so that traditional Buick buyers
didn't recognise it as a Buick. Therefore it sold in very few numbers,
making it ultra rare today.
Our Electra is one of two only in the UK.
