1953 Buick Skylark

In 1953 Buick invited the world to celebrate their 50th anniversary in grand style with their Golden Anniversary Skylark….featuring their all new 188
horsepower 322 cu in. V8 engine.

This very luxurious limited edition beauty (only 1690 were built) had some very special features, including power brakes, steering, windows, seats, hood and antennae for the foot operated selectronic radio.

Exclusive styling features ranged from its superb two tone leather interior to wide white wall tyres calling attention to the sublime Borrani styled 40
spoke chrome wire wheels with full fender cut outs to show them off.

These together with Buick's beautiful grinning grill and double bubble tail lights with the magnificent stainless steel side sweep- spears connecting front and rear ends debued to the American public
one of the finest 50's American convertibles ever built and is coveted today by collectors world wide.

Our example is further enhanced by the very rare factory mounted continental rear spare wheel. It was originally supplied in California to a Cunard line Captain. It is finished in mandarin red with a white hood and a red and white tuck and roll leather interior.

The 1953 Buick Skylark is recognised by the Milestone Car Society as a true milestone classic and by Buick officienados as THE MOST DESIRABLE POST WAR BUICK!!!

For further references of our 53 Skylark, it has been featured in the following reference books.
